Cookie policy
This policy lists every cookie this website can set, what each one does and how long it lasts. Only one cookie is set without your permission: the record of your own consent choice. Analytics cookies from Google and Microsoft load only after you click Accept analytics, and declining is honoured on every page.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On your next page view the browser sends it back, so the site can recognise the same browser. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by another domain whose code runs on the page are third-party cookies. Some expire when you close the browser, others persist for a fixed period.
Related technologies — local storage, session storage and tracking pixels — do a similar job by different means. Where our analytics providers use them, we treat them the same way as cookies: they are covered by your consent choice and none of them run until you opt in.
How consent works on this site
We take a strict approach here, and it is worth being precise about it.
- On your first visit a banner appears with two buttons of equal visual weight: Accept analytics and Decline. Neither is hidden, greyed out or made harder to click than the other.
- Until you click Accept analytics, no analytics code is loaded at all. Our tag manager loader checks for your recorded consent before it will inject anything. If consent is absent or declined it stops immediately, so Google and Microsoft receive no request and set no cookies. This is not a case of tags loading and then being told not to measure — they never load.
- Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie called
dds-consent, with a value of eithergrantedordenied, for 182 days. That cookie is essential: it is the mechanism by which a refusal is remembered, so it is set whichever way you answer. - Declining costs you nothing. Every page, the navigation and the quote form work identically either way.
- Ignoring the banner is treated as a refusal. Silence is not consent, and analytics stay off.
We do not use cookie walls, we do not re-prompt you on every page, and we do not treat continued scrolling as agreement.
Cookies used on this site
The table below lists every cookie this site can set. Only the first row is ever set without your permission. Every other row is conditional twice over: it appears only if you accepted analytics and the corresponding measurement ID is configured for this site. Where no ID is configured, that tool does not run at all.

Two honest caveats about that table. First, the names and lifetimes of third-party cookies are decided by Google and Microsoft, not by us, and they change them from time to time without telling site owners; treat those durations as approximate. Second, the exact set of tags deployed in our container should be confirmed before launch and this table updated to match: [CONFIRM: full list of tags actually deployed in the GTM container, and their cookies].
Google Tag Manager itself does not set cookies. It is a container that loads other tags, and those tags set the cookies listed above. We mention it because it is the component gated by your consent choice.
This site embeds no social media widgets, no advertising pixels from social networks, and no third-party chat, video or font services that would set cookies of their own. Web fonts are self-hosted for exactly this reason. If that changes, this policy changes with it.
What we do not do
- We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies to follow you around other websites.
- We do not sell or share analytics data with advertising networks for their own purposes.
- We do not use cookies to identify you personally. Analytics tell us that a page was read, not who read it. If we know who you are, it is because you told us on the quote form — see the privacy policy.
Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change your mind at any time, and there are two ways to do it.
Clear the cookies for this site
Deleting site data for documentdigitizationservices.com removes the dds-consent cookie along with any analytics cookies already set. With no recorded choice, the consent banner reappears on your next visit and you can answer differently. In most browsers this is under the padlock or tune icon in the address bar, then “Cookies and site data” or “Site settings”.
Use your browser’s cookie controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either generally or for one site, and to clear them automatically when you close it. The setting is usually found under:
- Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site settings.
- Safari — Settings or Preferences, then Privacy; on iOS, Settings then Safari.
- Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
- Firefox — Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
Blocking all cookies will not break this site, but it will also prevent us storing your refusal, so the consent banner will appear on every visit. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics measurement across all sites, and Microsoft publishes its own opt-out for Clarity; both are controlled by those companies rather than by us.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no settled standard for how websites should respond to browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals, and this site does not currently read them. In practice it makes no difference here: analytics are off for everyone until they are explicitly switched on, which is the outcome those signals are intended to produce.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we add, remove or replace a tag, and whenever a provider changes what it sets. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed. This version was last reviewed on 31 July 2026.
